Confluence controversies : The road in front of the rivers turn right to Bhandarkut bridge
The road in front of the rivers turn right to Bhandarkut bridge, Nomadic Bakarwals have just arrived with sheep and goats from the Kishtwar side and after crossing the bridge they will go up the Marusudar valley perhaps to Dachhan or higher to Marwah. Other road,( not visible in my photos) leads to the Paddar section of the Chandrabhaga valley.
Chandrabhaga flows under Bhandarkut bridge to join Marusudar ... see the difference of water colors at the confluence of two rivers. Some people say that Marusudar is Chenab as it carries more water, other that Chandrabhaga as it is longer, hence it is Chenab , but I believe that Chenab begins here , where Marusudar and Chandrabhaga do end. Chandrabhaga begins in Tandi in Lahul.

The name Chenab would suggest that it starts in China, which is not entirely true. Another problem is Marusudar.: In autumn I will go to Marwah to see where Marusudar begins. Below Yurdu ( Yurod) there is a confluence Sudar which is sometimes called Fariabad and sometimes Rennai or Renie, and the second river is called Marev by Marwah people, but in the upper part is called Warwan by the Warwan people and it begins from the Barmal glacier discovered by Major C.G. Bruce, (Charles Granville, 1866-1939) and described in his publication "Twenty years in the Himalaya", London, E.Arnold, (1910). Fariabad glacier was discovered by Dr Neve, Arthur, (b.1858).and described in " Thirty years in Kashmir.", London, E. Arnold, 1913. – Description of travels in Kashmir, Baltistan, Karakoram, Suru, Ladakh.
Not so many people repeated high paths of Mayor Bruce and the Neve brothers. Perhaps only three expeditions more ... one of them climbed Nun from the Sudar-Fariabad side ( first ascent ) but this route has never been repeated after them.
