DACHHAN   Dachhan  is a picturesque remote area of district Kishtwar. It is 50 km away from district headquarters Kishtwar and 280 km away from Jammu, the winter capital of J&K state. It is dotted with a number of tourist destinations which remain neglected and unexplored due to umpteen reasons-one of them is lack of connectivity via road, air or rail with rest of the State. The populace of this picturesque area is habitated mostly on the left/right banks of river Marwah- Troutrich. 1) Shree Hudh Mata            Shree Hudh Mata Shrine is located at a distance of 85 kms from District Head Quarter Kishtwar at a height of about 2600 metres (approx. 8600 ft) from the sea level and 33°.32 North lat./long. near the famous BRAHAMA PEAK in Anantnallah Village of Tehsil Dachhan Distt. Kishtwar. One side of this peak is always covered with snow and clouds.                      Shree Hudh Mata Shrine is considered to be the abode of Shiv Parivaar i.e. Shiv Ji Maharaj, Mata Parvati (Sati) and Ganesh Ji. There is a small cave in which three natural Shivlingams exist like that of Shiv Khori Shrine in Reasi District. The entry of the cave is like that of oridinal Vaishno Devi Shrine Cave in Katra. Brahmah Peak Sickle Moon Peak  or  Bharanzar Peak  (6,574 metres or 21,568 feet) is located in the Kishtwar  Himalaya  and is the highest summit of the range. It lies in the eastern Himalayan  range, and is 12 km (7 mi) north of Brahmah massis  in Kishtwar , 55 kilometers east of Kishtwar town and 195 kilometers east of Srinagar , the summer capital of the India state of Jammu and Kashmir.
